Wwf Survivor Series 2011

Welcome to the report of WWE Survivor Series 2011. For the first time and the only time, the Rock and John Cena team up against the Miz and R-Truth. The first time the Rock wrestles in seven days. Plus Alberto Del Rio defends the WWE Championship against CM Punk and Mark Henry puts the World Heavyweight Title on the line against the Big Show. It’s WWE Survivor Series 2011.

WWE Survivor Series 2011

According to Meltzer’s report on the Observer Website, Santino Marella defeated Jinder Mihal in the dark match.

Well we kick things off on a dour note, with Johnny the Dull

showing up to introduce us to the show. Every moment Laurinaitis speaks, I’m convinced God is striking down kittens left and right.

Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison to retain the United States Championship.

The crowd chant for Zack Ryder. Got to love New York, never fails to let me down. This match as it was, was about as good as could be expected. Starship Pain is blocked with the knees and Ziggler gets the pin with the Zig Zag. Dolph Ziggler scores the win tonight to keep the United States Title. Did anyone expect Morrison to win? No, I thought not.

Vickie and Ziggles have some words, but our hero, Zack Ryder shows up and gets himself some of Dolph Ziggler. Ryder hits the Rough Ryder. Woo, woo, you know it.

Beth Phoenix defeated Eve Torres to retain the WWE Diva’s Title.

A run of the mill diva’s match until the finish, where Beth Phoenix obliterates Eve Torres to retain the belts. I’m sick of this feud, but the finish was ace.

CM Punk is backstage, with David Otunga popping up. He suggests Punk should apologize to Cole. Punk agrees, after he wins the match and the title tonight.

The Rock is out, cutting a promo. As always, the Rock has the fans eating out of the palm of his hand because he’s the Rock. He could read a phone book and he’d somehow make it absolutely insane. A rather good promo, as a “lady parts” chant gets started in MSG. The Rock doesn’t come alone, he brings the millions and millions.

Classic Survivor Series Match, with Team Barrett of Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, and Hunico defeated Team Orton of Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara, and Mason Ryan(w/his mystical magical hair).

Obviously elimination rules, first team to eliminate the other members of the team wins.

-Dolph Ziggler gets RKOed for the pin in the first elimination

-Sin Cara takes a nasty spill, as he twists his knee in the ropes, thus the injury forces the elimination.

-Cody Rhodes eliminates Mason Ryan to lead to a four on three disadvantage for Team Orton

-Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston, thus leaving the team 4-2 with Randy Orton and Sheamus holding down the fort.

-Sheamus is eliminated by disqualification due to him beating on Swagger too much. Yes, my least favorite finish, the guy gets disqualified for being too dominant. This leaves Orton four on one against Team Barrett.

-Randy Orton puts out Jack Swagger with some help from Sheamus.

-Randy Orton beats Hunico.

-Then Wade Barrett beats Randy Orton, leaving him and Cody Rhodes the Survivors of this Match.

Survivor Series matches are always pretty good. For a moment, I thought Randy Orton was going to roll over everyone. They’re rebuilding Barrett, so good, another top level heel other than Mark Henry on Smackdown. Of course they could just be rebuilding him to feed him to Randall Keith Orton but let’s give WWE the benefit of the doubt. I know a foolish thing to do.

Sin Cara suffered a ruptured patella tendon in the last match. Yikes it was a nasty spill.

Alberto Del Rio is backstage with the Bella Twins, but Johnny Come Never disrupts Alberto’s mojo. Del Rio tells the Dynamic Dope that tonight, he’ll defend the belt successfully in Madison Square Garden, for the first time and obviously not the last time.

The Big Show defeated Mark Henry via disqualification.

The usual rather solid power match between these two competitors, with a finish that I think that many saw coming a mile away. Show pulls out a flying elbow drop for the end, as you’d believe a giant can fly. Mark Henry low blows Show for the disqualification. That was kind of

weak. If you’re going to get disqualified, use a chair or a belt or just murder the referee, that’d work out. Show knocks out Mark Henry and then takes a chair to his leg, in some poetic justice. Really it was the right finish if they wanted to continue this feud, but they went about it the wrong. We are gearing up for the Inevitable Chairs Match at TLC.

Wade Barrett talks up his win, but Awesome Truth show up. Miz is not happy that the focus is on everyone else but Awesome Truth. R-Truth talks to pigeons. The pigeons said nothing, but all pigeons do is crap and crap is crap and someone’s going to get got. But are they going to get oakie doked? That’s the real question Truth and Miz are ready for Cena and the Rock tonight.

CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio to win the WWE Championship.

Since Punk trumps Del Rio on my favorite wrestler scale, obviously I was pleased with this (Undertaker, Daniel Bryan, Punk, Austin Aries, Zack Ryder, Del Rio, Mark Henry, Jay Lethal, Chris Masters, and Brodus Clay round out the top ten, in that order. Now you know and knowing is half the power and even if you don’t care to know, knowledge is power.). Anyway after that side rant aside, Punk brings out Howard Finkel as his personal ring announcer, which I enjoyed. Pretty good match, even if the storyline leading up to it was nothing to be desired. Punk wins with the Anaconda Vice and Punk is your new WWE Champion. Del Rio will likely get it back next month, because that’s how things work around here in WWE.

The Rock and John Cena defeated R-Truth and The Miz.

The Rock didn’t really miss a beat in seven years. Everyone saw the result of this match coming I think, but the only question The Miz is finished off with the most electrifying move in Sports Entertainment, the People’s Elbow and screw the haters who think that’s a stupid move.

The Rock and John Cena are both in the ring. Wrestlemania 28 will be a magical moment hopefully. We are out.

Unfortunately, Sin Cara will apparently be out for six to nine months. Poor guy, can’t catch a break.

Why You Should Watch WWE Survivor Series 2011

Despite the build up being less than adequate, this was a pretty acceptable card. Maybe not the best of all time, but check out the main event at least, due to the Rock, if you get the chance.
