What did this reviewer think when he watched WWE RAW for January 7th 2013? The show as usual would have been a lot better had it been shorter. The TLC Match was good and there were some good promos on the show.

John Cena recaps last week’s events with the dung being dropped on Dolph Ziggler and A.J. Ziggler makes the point that many have made, that Cena just jokes and tries to push everything away. It’s not quite a shoot comment, but we’ll take what we can get. We have Dolph Ziggler against John Cena to open up the show.

Well, John Cena defeated Dolph Ziggler in the opening match. Enjoy that one moment in the sun Ziggler, for you shall not be getting another. The match as it was happened to be pretty decent. Cena defies the odds, against Big E. Langston, A.J., and Dolph Ziggler, and picked up the win with the Attitude Adjustment.

Eve and Kaitlyn continue their feud. It’s a feud that’s going to keep going on and on, given the actual lack of depth of the Divas division. Eve got counted out, and saved her title.

The Rhodes Scholars are set up for another championship bout. Maybe this will be the time where they actually win the belts? Cross Rhodes pins Bryan, and Rhodes and Sandow get the win. The usual solid effort took place here in the tag division in WWE.

Heath Slater was taken down with Randy Orton with the RKO. The more things change,

the more they stay the same.

Santino Marella gave it a good go, and he even had Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat in his corner. Wade Barrett rolled him over in what amounted to a squash, using the Bullhammer Elbow to pick up the win.

For those of who missed WWE Main Event, we had Antonio Cesaro against the Great Khali again. And again, Cesaro managed to hoist up Khali, using the Neutralizer on him for the pin.

The bad night for the 3MB continues. Sheamus rolls over Jinder Mahal. This was mostly a showcase for Sheamus, so it worked.

CM Punk against Ryback for the WWE Championship in a TLC Match was pretty good. The SHIELD got involved, and this allowed Punk to sneak in for the victory to retain the title. So Ryback goes back down, unless of course he wins the Royal Rumble. One could argue that WWE should have struck while the iron was hot.

Kofi Kingston is used as job fodder for the World Heavyweight Champion. Well, there are worse fates.

CM Punk cuts a huge promo at the end of the show. This is a set up for the Rock’s triumphant return. The Rock has words for Punk. It is on at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk against the Rock for the WWE Championship. Unless WWE does something daring, Punk’s reign is coming to a close. Rock Bottom nails Punk to close out the show.

Another three hour RAW has been put in the books.
