WWE No Way Out 2012 Report.
A number one contendership fatal four way match has been added to the show, with Epico and Primo, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd, the Usos, and Darren Young and Titus O'Neil squaring off for a tag team title shot.
A rare production error is shown, for David Otunga's attack on Brodus Clay on Smackdown, saying that it happened last Monday on the RAW Supershow. Ooops.
Brodus Clay defeated David Otunga via countout
This month's Free For All Match on YouTube for WWE No Way Out is Otunga against Brodus. Otunga works on the leg and the moment Brodus gets the comeback, Otunga just casually exits the ring for the countout. That was kind of lame.
Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler to retain the World Heavyweight Title.
Well good match to kick off the Pay Per View proper, but the finish was rather in little doubt. Ziggler worked well so I really can't complain a lot of this match, other than some awkwardness early on. White Noise gets the pin and Sheamus keeps the World Heavyweight Title in the opening match at WWE No Way Out.
Santino Marella defeated Ricardo Rodiguez in a Tuxedo Match
Ricardo is stripped, Santino wins. We knew what to expect here.
Christian successfully retained the WWE Intercontinental Title over Cody Rhodes
It's Christian against Rhodes so another rather solid but not the best that they had. The crowd really wasn't buying too much of this one but the work was rather solid. Rhodes survived the Killswitch but the Spear gets the pin.
Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, the Prime Time Playyers defeated the Usos, Epico and Primo, and Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd
Some fun action although given that most of these guys are NXT recently, it really did fall flat in a number of ways. A.W. turns on Epico and Primo and the crowd goes mild. Darren Young nails the Gut Check on Primo for the pin. So the Prime Time Players are the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles under the management of A.W.
Triple H cuts his promo, inviting Brock Lesnar to face him in a match at Summerslam or he'll be forever branded a quitter. Served its purpose.
Layla retained the WWE Diva's Title over Beth Phoenix
Our obligatory Divas match and Layla keeps the title with the Neckbreaker. Not really feeling all that one.
Sin Cara pinned Hunico
Special bonus match, when Sin Cara takes on the former fake Sin Cara on WWE No Way Out in Hunico. Showcase for Cara, who scores the pin. I get where WWE's going with Sin Cara, but not sure its going to work.
CM Punk defeated Daniel Bryan and Kane to retain the WWE Championship
Despite Kane, pretty much as good as you can expect. A.J. was out there and Punk threw Kane into her, and Go to Sleep gets the pin. Well give the Kane part of the feud is over, than maybe we can go back to Daniel Bryan and Punk, considering that Kane was the one pinned. Then you never know what is going to happen with WWE. Still a fairly above average triple threat contest, despite everything.
Ryback destroyed Rob Grymes and Dan Delany
Ryback destroys the two enhancement talent, ham-en-eggers, jobbers, local scrubs, whatever you want to call them.
John Cena defeated the Big Show by escaping the cage.
I despise the cage escape stipulation but what are you going to do. This was an overbooked spectacle, with a lot of people blocking the Big Show from escaping. Attitude Adjustment and Cena climbs over the top and Show tries to make it out the door but Cena beats him to the punch. Main event was about everything you might expect.
Cena beats up John Laurinaitis after the match and Mr. McMahon fires him. We'll see if the Board of Directors magically reverses it or not on RAW.
Overall some good matches but some dry spots. Hit and miss show.
