Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 53 the Making of Metalhead
The following review has spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 3 Episode 35 the Making of Metalhead.
The Turtles are sick in the lair with a mysterious disease known as Turtle Pox that only affects mutant Turtles, as Apriltakes care of them, with them eating plenty of chicken soup. Meanwhile Krang has created an android in the Technodrome that resembles a Turtle. Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady are sent to the Earth, to lure out the Turtles and cause as much damage.
The Turtles show up, sick and able to foil, with Shredder zapping them with a remote to get the brain waves. Metalhead is sent to deal with the Turtles in their lair. The robot captures Master Splinter and April, but the Turtles save, but get captured. Donatello short circuits the robot and manages to reprogram it, but considering that it is programmed with the personalities of all of the Turtles, it is a bit confused.
Bebop, Rocksteady, and Shredder go to deal with the Turtles but Metalhead attacks them. A lazer blast scrambles Metalhead more. Raphael, Leonardo, and Michelangelo are trapped but Donatello manages to reprogram Metalhead. The bad guys beat a hasty retreat, well
Metalhead takes care of the Turtles, who are still sick, as Bebop and Rocksteady ask Krang if he has a chisel to break Shredder out of the cement block.
Ah, there has to be that one episode when the characters are sick. Of course, how much of the sickness the Turtles were milking them.
Krang vowing to finish off the Turtles by fricasseeing them with a touch of cilantro was a good moment. As was poor Shredder getting caught right in cement.
This is the first episode featuring the robot turtle known as Metalhead. He got an TMNT action figure as most did. He appeared in Turtles in Time for the SNES and Arcade as well. And he had one more small cameo in this cartoon.
Poor Bebop and Rocksteady, wounded that the Turtles didn't think they were important enough to beat up. And robbing banks, that's a bit high up for them.
Metalhead was fun when his personality was going haywire. Not too much from the action front.
