Episode Summary

As April is reporting

on Marti Gras, the Turtles show up, in no disguise. After learning that they had not known about the Three Musketeers, April lends them a copy of the book, with Leonardo takes an interest to. The other three Turtles are less than impressed, which inspires Leonardo to order four musketeer costumes to teach then control.

Krang discovers that the Star of Brazil, a powerful piece of Technology from Dimension X has landed on earth, where he can power a force field generator. Bebop and Rocksteady are sent to get it, but they get into a battle with the Turtles. Leonardo is knocked out and thinks that he is D'Artagnan, a character in the Three Musketeers.

The Star of Brazil gets thrown in the trash accidentally and Irma picks it up, thinking that someone threw it away.

Master Splinter encourages the Turtles to play along with Leonardo, until his memory returns, as they go out to face Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady, as Shredder steals Krang's force field generator and plots to double cross him, taking over the world, discovering the emerald on Irma's neck, kidnapping her and April.

Krang is not happy that Shredder is double crossing him and uses the force field but Leonardo shows up. After another

knock on the head, Leonardo is back to normal. Shredder manages to grab the force field generator, but since it is calibrated for Krang's size, it does not work out. A battle occurs, with the Star of Brazil knocked down the drain and the villains get away.

Another plan foiled thanks to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Episode Review

If cartoons of the 1980s have taught me anything, a knock on the head causes amnesia and another knock reverses any brain trauma. Note that one down, medical students, that might be useful for later.

Krang throwing a tantrum and really treating Shredder like dirt almost did in fact backfire. Of course, Shredder was not that smart, rather not calibrating the force field rather popular.

Nice and brief duel between Leonardo and Shredder, which was really the highlight of an otherwise middle of the road episode. I'm noticing a pattern with any episodes with alternate voice actors, they seem to be on the lower end of the spectrum.

Bit of a continuity flub with the brain like creatures in Dimension X, as we all see what Krang's realy body looked like in Season Seven.

Final Summary and Rating

5/10 rating for this one, some moments, some excitement, but kind of uninspiring in many ways. You can watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 34 the Four Musketurtles on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 4 DVD.
