Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 12 Enter: The Fly
In a scene that would likely be cut right out of syndication for obvious reasons had it aired today, Baxter and Shredderare working on an experiment on the World Trade Towers. The Turtles stop them. Stockman bungles the experiment. They make their getaway.
Shredder is not happy, so he asks for Krang for Bebop and Rocksteady back, which Krang agrees, but considering the Dimension balance is thrown off, so he has to send someone through the portal. That someone is Stockman, who goes through with a housefly. Krang ignores Stockman’s plea that he’s a scientist, so he throws him in a disintegrator unit to pretty much kill him. As Krang will vaporize Stockman to death, leaving no trace of the scientist.
Yikes. Just yikes. That was just brutal. Thankfully that fly managed to join Stockman. Stockman survives, mutating into a large fly, which escapes to the Earth. This plot is an obvious spoof of the horror movie film, the Fly, where a man was cross mutated with a fly.
Meanwhile, April receives a plant, which turns out to be a deadly Doku plant, from the Shredder, which poisons her. Splinter needs the Turtles to find a Gazai Plant to concoct an antidote. It just so happens that the only knownGazai Plant in the Western Half of the World was in this city. That is fortunate.
Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady encounters the new fly Baxter, with Shredder convincing Stockman that he should join forces with him, because it was the fault of the Turtles. Being merged with a fly tends to fry Stockman’s brain slightly, with this becoming more obvious in later seasons.
Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Stockman do battle with the Turtles, with help of the Knucklehead, likely another attempt to sell toys. Turtles escape, but lose the Gazai plant, leading to a fight to the finish in a junk yard, four against four, with clean combat.
Of course, there are laser blasters and a scientific device that Stockman creates that will transport the Turtles a half of second forward in time, rendering them out of sync with the rest of the world and causing them to essentially disappear. There is an ace in the hole, that being Splinter, who arrives in the Turtle Van. Splinter knows how to drive and wield laser weapons, who knew.
The day is saved, the Antidote is concocted, the villains defeated, with Baxter Stockman zapped right into dimensional limbo.
This continues another solid stream of episodes for Season 2 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. 8/10 rating for this one. You can watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 12 Enter: The Fly on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 2 DVD.
