Ring Of Honor Wrestling 03/31/12

It is now time to take a look at Ring of Honor Wrestling for March 31st 2012, headlined by a main event match between Mike Bennett and Eddie Edwards in a March Mayhem Qualifying Match. Let’s watch ROH Wrestling 3/31/12 and review all of the highlights.

Ring of Honor Wrestling 3/31/12

This show is such an afterthought this weekend based on everything that has been going on. But it must be recapped, so let’s get this over with.

Tommaso Ciampa has the Ring of Honor Television Belt in his hand, that he stole from the man who lost it this weekend, Jay Lethal

and I don’t want to hear any whining about spoilers either. This promo is a bit behind the times. This is what happens when you tape shows that are going to air after the Pay Per View.

Tommaso Ciampa defeated Kyle O’Reilly

Ciampa remains undefeated tonight, going forward in the March Mayhem tournament. You might say that he is part of the Final Four in a way. Wink wink, nudge nudge. O’Reilly fights off Ciampa, but Ciampa uses the knee of death to knock out O’Reilly to get the win.

Words with Davey Richards who is the Ring of Honor Champion as of the time this show airs and he will be taking on Ryan McBride in a Proving Ground Match. Richards is the ultimate cure from insomnia on the microphone. Blah, blah, serious, blah blah, strong style, all of that joyous stuff.

Davey Richards defeated Ryan McBride in the Proving Grounds Match

Short and sweet, with Richards putting on the Ankle Lock right on McBride to tap him out, so no title shot for McBride.

Kevin Steen cuts the usual great promo. I’m sure this would have been a bit more entertaining on another day, but this show is just one hour too much of Ring of Honor. Would anyone have

complained if ROH would have aired a “Best of Show” this weekend? Davey Richards is brought out after Steen talks some trash. Steen is going to have to earn his match. Obviously the slow set up for the next IPPV is in motion.

Recap of the last match between Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team against Cedric Alexander and Caprice Coleman, which Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team already avenged. Jay Lethal promises to take back his title belt from Ciampa, well he would have, had he not lost it to Roderick Strong at Showdown in the Sun Day 2.

Mike Bennett defeated Eddie Edwards

The final qualifier for March Mayhem. Maria fakes getting hurt to lead to the finish, but this is a swerve, and Edwards is rolled up, for Bennett to qualify. Not too bad of a main event all things considered. Bennett, Cole, Lethal, and Ciampa all in March Mayhem next week.

This show was what it was, with some decent wrestling but really just an outdated show and an after thought which is sadly the perils of taping a show before the Pay Per View that will technically be airing after.
