It is now time to dip right into the Random Comic Book Box of Doom™ and go right into another issue pertaining to the Bloodlines Event running through DC Comics throughout 1993, from L.E.G.I.O.N with L.E.G.I.O.N Volume 1 Annual 4, put out in September 1993 in DC Comics.
L.E.G.I.O.N Volume 1 Annual 4 September 1993 Review
This annual was released by DC Comics from September 1993, written by Mark Waid, with Mike McKone and Tom Tenney on pencils, Scott Hanna, Andrew Popoy, Mark McKenna, and Tom McWeeney on Inks, Gene D’Angelo on Colors, and Kevin Cunningham and Gasper Salandio on letters, withDan Raspier and Peter Tomasi as editors. Phew. That was a mouthful.
Much like the Lobo issue that I previously reviewed, this is part of the big DC Comics crossover, entitled Bloodlines, and this was a monumental event, in an attempt to introduce some new, fresh heroes into the DC Universe. Did DC comics succeed? Your mileage might rather vary, but there is some interest artwork. And I think that this crossover was very much a product of the nineties.
Pretty long on visuals and stunning artwork and not so good on actual
I’ve got several more issues of Bloodlines as I am working my way through the pile. I think that kind of company wide crossover was new and fresh back in 1993, but in 2012, it wouldn’t really pan out. But the action in this issue was something that caught my eye. Was this worth a re-read? I don’t know about that but it might be worth a light read.
