Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Episode 16 Widow’s Sting

A fun action packed episode, with Hawkeye being the key

focus. He is taking this Black Widow thing a bit personally, as he is right in the middle of a deal between HYDRA and AIM, with MODOK and Grim Reaper. But this is one operation that he shouldn’t be getting involved with, as Nick Fury chews out Hawkeye and then Iron Man does the same. But Hawkeye has been never been one to listen to reason. An old team mate, Mockingbird joins up, but she is really a SHIELD babysitter, trying to sent to divert Hawkeye, Black Panther, and Captain America away.

There were a lot of intriguing references in this episode. One in particular to the fat man, which many people think is a reference to Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin. And Count Nefaria, a another long time Avengers enemy and several others. MODOK wants more money, but then he realizes that the diversion that have created, a false cosmic cube, may actually work. Obviously it

would not be wise to allow something actually working to fall right into the hands of Strucker and HYDRA, so MODOK decides to keep it for himself.

As it turns out, the Black Window may be a triple agent. The Grim Reaper gets captured, Viper gets captured, and just as Baron Strucker is about to put the finishing touches on Hawkeye, she hits him from behind. Naturally she passes it off as the Black Panther attacking.

And Grim Reapers line about never meeting so one so tired of being alive was rather bad ass.

Strucker knowing that MODOK was lying about the Cube was great and sets up future events. It is always great when villains don’t trust other villains.

And there is a problem, as Viper is a Skrull. That was a twist ending for sure.

Overall this was an exciting episode and really a needed set up for future events. 7.5/10 for this episode.
